    Become a Certified Professional Photographer

The most significant growth as a photographic artist started when I joined my PPA local and state affiliates PPANI and APPI, respectively.  The epic transformation was elevated through relationships that I built through strong mentorship and inspiring one on one education very similar to the NEIPP experience.

Education has always been one of my key value statements and through this journey I was able to obtain the Masters of Photography and the Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA in several years.  Wanting to give back I began serving as a CPP liaison since 2011 wanting to help educate and elevate the photographic industry as well as having served on many state affiliate juror panels to help others pursue their goals.

Another extremely important value statement is FUN!  Making the learning experience fun through fellowship runs very deep in my DNA which is also very evident in the NEIPP DNA.

    About Peter

In addition to holding the Masters of Photography and the Photographic Craftsman degrees from PPA I have achieved high level of distinction which includes being PPA Photographer of the Year for 6-consecutive years including receiving the Diamond Photographer of the Year in 2014.  Other accolades include images accepted into the International Photographic Competition (IPC) Loan Collections, Top Ten District Photographer at the 2012 North Central District competition and received PPANI and APPI President’s Awards.

    Environmental Portraits

The environmental portrait is the bread and butter for many commercial photographers outside wedding and portrait studio work. These needs publish in a variety of ads for corporations, annual reports, employee recognition, and community outreach.

This course focuses on the skills required to create dynamic, technically clean, efficiently produced portraits of people in their work place. The challenges of mindfully working in a new environment, finding the appropriate camera angle, perspective, addressing background concerns, dynamically posing subjects and utilizing appropriate lighting - all while maintaining an efficient and undisruptive workflow amid business pace - are essential skills we’ll cover during the course.

We’ll address the ins and outs, building each image up from the ground, first by showcasing specific examples and from there walking through a number of hands-on, practical set-ups where as a group, we face, set-up and photograph new, challenging environmental portrait situations.

The end result will be a fun workshop with experiential approach where students gain insight, practical knowledge and skills toward building commercial setting environmental portraiture confidence.
